- Inspection of Drill Tips
- Drill diameter – 3 to 5 mm
- Drill diameter, Clearance diameter, Chisel angle, Web thickness, visual damages to be checked
- High speed inspection system with about 40 drills to be checked / min.
- Auto-sorting system with segregation based on Under-size, Over-size, Accept and Wrong-orientation
- Length of the drill is not controlled
- Inspection accuracy required to be less than 5 microns
Solution
- High Resolution Camera optics and multiple light sources for measurement of various parameters
- Auto-loading system and interfacing with PLC control system as well as auto-loading and sorting mechanisms
- Specialized software for the image processing and measurement
- Speed of operation achieved is about 40 drills / min
- Accuracy achieved is about 5 microns
- The same system will be extended for other drills sizes up to 12 mm
